The Art of Artemisia

The Art of Artemisia

Posted by Emerald Coast Growers on Aug 11th 2023

The calming, silver-hued foliage of Artemisia adds an airy, cooling elegance to the garden your customers, and theirs, can't resist.

Well-placed, interesting foliage is an essential refining element in perennial garden design. The cool, lustrous foliage of versatile Artemisia helps quiet the transition between boldly colored blooming plants or complements a softer, monochromatic theme. It rarely flowers, preferring instead to shine the spotlight on its petaled companions.

Only delicate in appearance, Artemisia, commonly known as wormwood, is just right for dry, hot, sunny spaces. This drought-tolerant, vigorous plant thrives in poor to moderate, well-draining soil. A bonus! Its aromatic, bitter foliage is distasteful to most garden pests.
