Kilkenny, Ireland is a destination city, famed for arts, crafts, music festivals, ancient castles -- and modern Carex! The breeders at Fitzgerald Nursery have struck Celtic gold with this great group of sedges.

These well-behaved sedges form sturdy, compact, uniform mounds of glossy blades in a nifty range of easy-to-use sizes and colors. One variety, ‘Everillo’, has solid-color blades; the others are striped.

Carex morrowii ‘Everglow’ PP30466 Rich green central stripes flanked by orange margins in autumn.

Carex oshimensis Everest PP20955 Shapely deep green blades with snow white edges.

Carex oshimensis ‘Everillo’PP21002 Blades emerge lime green, then turn solid golden yellow.

Carex oshimensis ‘Everlime’PP25622 Deep green arching leaves with bright, lime-green edges.

Carex oshimensis ‘Everoro’ PP23406 Yellow and gold striped, with elegant form and impressive vigor.

Carex oshimensis 'Eversheen’ PP25938 Arching blades with deep green edges flanking a broad central band of bright lime yellow.

Flowers are subtle and inconspicuous. On the oshimensis types, they become interesting bristle-brush seed heads.

Hardy in Zones 6-9, EverColor grasses are made for the shade but will tolerate some sun. They’re excellent, low-maintenance candidates for containers, edging or ground cover. And they’re happiest in moist (not soggy) but well-drained soil.

Have you EverColored? If not, you should sample these sensational sedges. They’re splendid in the landscape, or in containers. They come in easy-planting, quick-finishing 50-cell liner trays from Emerald Coast Growers – your easy choice!
