It may be that a rose is a rose is a rose, but it’s not so with rosemary. Subtle and not-so-subtle characteristics differentiate our four offerings.‘Arp’: Named for an agricultural town in Texas, this one was selected for grey-green foliage, persistent blu

That’s right, folks: Perovskia is native to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tibet. It’s not from Russia, with or without love. It’s also not a sage, despite the pungent salvia-like aroma released when the silvery foliage is crushed. It’s actually in the mint family.P. atriplicifoliaThe original! Talc-white stems rise from lacy, blue/pewter foliage, adorned with sprays of lavender flowers. Named Perennial Plant of the Year in 1995, it stands a loose-limbed 3 – 4’ and is hardy in Zones 4 – 9. P. hyb

The genus known as “Fountain grass” is large and multifaceted. We grow over two dozen varieties, covering a wide spectrum of looks, hues and uses. Our Pennisetum offerings range from sturdy little cuties less than a foot tall, up to soaring six-footers. Most are hardy, but some of our most popular cultivars are annuals. With so much variety, you’d think we had all the bases covered. But the plant breeders of the world always have something unexpected up their sleeves.Brent Horvath with ‘Yell
